Submission Guidelines, and so On

Here is a story about a girl who wrote freelance articles for a company who turned their back on her. Actually, it was my fault. I didn't expressly read the copyright laws, submission guidelines, and terms and conditions that the company had provided to me. Because of that, I lost the rights to those articles, which are, as of right now, not found on the internet. I cannot re-publish these articles anywhere, even my own personal website. So, be sure that you  writers out there read these guidelines when deciding to write for any website, company, or client. ALWAYS.

When agreeing with the terms and service, as in this one:

MAKE SURE YOU READ THIS.

Just some advice from a current writer on her past misadventures in freelance writing.

Thank you, and goodnight.

From the Beginning

So, I'm not sure I'll even keep this blog, because I'm not so sure I like the idea of blogging in the first place, but it is another way of self marketing and helping to get my name out there, and that I need. I've also got to start writing more , but this will also be a way of chronicling my job search in the writing field and maybe to help future writers have a better go at it than I have had so far.

Today, I got alerts from the following sites, which have all been pretty helpful and which you can get job alerts from every day , too, which helps to keep me motivated to keep applying for jobs, no matter how tedious:

1) www.simplyhired.com
2) www.indeed.com
3) www.careerbuilder.com
4) www.sciencecareers.com
5) www.higheredjobs.com
6) www.pittsburghjobs.com
7) contributor.yahoo.com (trying this one out---i'll give reviews later)
8) www.monster.com

Recently, I found a copy of Writer's Digest 2012 yearbook (http://www.writersdigestshop.com/product/writers-digest-yearbook-2012 ). This one had a huge list of 100 best websites to write for (get paid), get advice from, and share advice with others writers and editors.
